Well, they came back up, I was worried that the recent ISP spying scare was to blame, or maybe the MPAA/RIAA was up to no good. But it seems that my fears were un-founded, they came back up some time during the night.

I was called to unlock an iPhone 4 from AT&T. I went to work jailbreaking it so I could install the SAM unlock. All went well until I got to the part where you re-activate the iPhone, it wouldn’t re-activate. I did some looking online, and found that Apple has now patched the loophole that allowed us to unlock the iPhone.

So, until there is a new fix for this, I have removed this from my list of services. There is still IMEI unlocking, which is very expensive, but it is permanent, and doesn’t require the phone to be jailbroken.

These online services which can range from $85 all the way up to $150, will take your IMEI number found on your SIM tray and unlock it in about 6 to 48 hours.

Here are some of the services I am talking about:

Applenberry

OfficialiPhoneUnlock.co.uk

UnlockAnyiPhone

While these services are expensive, some might feel the price is worth it, to be able to take your iPhone to any carrier.

So, I was reloading a computer from a recovery disk, because the hard drive had failed on it, or more precisely, it was failing. Well, I get the 4 recovery DVDs installed, and when Windows 7 finally loads up, I am greeted with a task bar full of icons, stupid moving Toshiba side bars, and all manner of what else.

Why on Earth does Best Buy do this to their customers, do they really think you are going to use half of this useless stuff?

So, I am going about the task of updating the laptop now, and when I am finished with that, I will set to work on removing some of this useless crap.

Well, I am back, I got all of the useless junk off of the laptop. I got MS Office installed and updated, as well as the antivirus program. I got the laptop returned to my client, and they were pleased, I even managed to save most of his documents from his old hard drive, with the exception of two photos, not too shabby.

Man this is going to be so awesome, we are going to be repairing iPhones, and laptops and computers together. I am going to teach you some tricks, and stuff to make your life easier while working on your own computer. If I don’t know something, I am going to look it up and post it here so maybe you won’t go through the same crap I did when you are working on your own computer, or laptop, or iPhone. We are going to be bestest friends, and learn things, and do things; I can’t wait.

I wish I had been taking videos, or photos of some of the work I have done in the past, some of it was pretty awesome. Anyway that is in the past, I am going to start documenting my work here from now on.

Anyway

Man, welcome to my new blog, take your coat off and stay a while.
